A formidable team of subject-matter experts

A former president of the Central Bank of Venezuela with extensive experience running large and complex organizations, founder and chair Ruth de Krivoy leverages both her decision-making skills and her deep understanding of the interaction between politics and policy to help clients manage the economic, financial, and regulatory challenges that have come to characterize the Venezuelan market. Her multifaceted career has ingrained in Ruth a deep appreciation for the need to adapt and evolve in response to changing circumstances, an invaluable skill in today’s fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Tamara Herrera is President and Chief Economist, one of Venezuela’s most authoritative sources on economics, politics, and policy. She pioneered country-risk analysis in Venezuela and spearheaded Sintesis Financiera’s integral approach to analyzing politics and policy and foreseeing how government actions affect Venezuela’s markets and business operations. Since joining the firm in 1976, Tamara has also played a critical role in developing the consultancy’s financial sector analysis and macroeconomic forecasting capabilities.

Miriam Maita’s extensive background in macroeconomics, econometric forecasting, and policy analysis has significantly contributed to Sintesis Financiera’s reputation for delivering insightful analysis of Venezuela’s complex economic landscape. Prior to joining the firm as a senior economist in 2022, she spent 12 years in an economic research role at the Central Bank of Venezuela, honing her skills and gaining an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of the Venezuelan economy. Miriam’s profound grasp of Venezuela’s monetary, fiscal, and foreign exchange dynamics has proven particularly valuable in a nation lacking official data.
